TORI DARKE WINS TOP COUNTRY MUSIC AWARD

Competing against 12 hand picked open age finalists 17 year old Tori Darke
of Mount Annan NSW has taken the top award at the Australian Country Talent Seekers Quest held in Parkes over the long weekend as part of The Parkes Spectacular Country Music Festival. The prize package includes recording time with Grant Luhrs at Flying Fox Studios in Wagga Wagga, cash, trophies and the opportunity to return in 2008 as a guest Artist. “To have my name on the Australian Trophy along side Felicity Urquhart, Diana Corcoran, Travis Collins, The Byrnes Sisters and Victoria Bailey just to name a few is an honor and a pleasure”.

Eligible to enter the Festivals Talent Quest, Tori placed 1st in duo with Liam Brew from Queensland and 3rd in Country Rock. Tori also achieved the Ivy Summerfield Perpetual Trophy placing 1st in Australiana performing “A Bushman Can’t Survive”.

This is helping create a fantastic year for young Tori as the list of achievements continue to grow as Tori heads off to Queensland in November where she will compete for the Queensland Jnr Champion of Champions title, then returning shortly thereafter to compete in Sydney for the Jnr Nationals title held at St. Mary’s Leagues Club on 24th Nov.

Tori recently returning from Gympie Qld where she performed on the Muster Club Stage, also performing at Campbelltown RSL along side Gina Jeffreys, Beccy cole and Sarah Storer

Enjoying the camaraderie and friendships made along the way has Tori looking forward to the future as she finishes school this year and her dedication and commitment will certainly see her fulfill her dream.

Tori is currently performing on the 2nd Sunday of each month at “Menangle House” at Menangle along with other gigs throughout Sydney and Newcastle in the coming months
