TORI DARKE is vastly becoming one of the most promising young Country Music Singer/Songwriters in Australia.

2010 has starting an amazing year for Tori with the release of her 3rd single ‘Not My Time To Fly’ to radio in March, and has been soaring up the charts now for several weeks.  It is currently at #8 on The Country Tracks Top 30 Charts, and is receiving massive radio exposure throughout Australia and New Zealand with great support from radio interviews throughout the Nation, and recently being released to CMC.  

This song has won the hearts of everyone and Tori has chosen to donate all profits from ‘Not My Time To Fly’ if purchased through iTunes back to Ronald McDonald House Charity at Westmead.

‘Not My Time To Fly’ has recently been chosen as the Theme Song for the Ronald McDonald House Charity Testimonial DVD, which is an amazing achievement for this very talented up and coming singer/songwriter.

Without a doubt, the biggest highlight of this year has been her recent trip to the music capital of the world, Nashville, where she spent time co-writing and in pre-production for her upcoming debut album.



 
tori_bio2.jpg Whilst in Nashville, Tori also had the privilege of writing with esteemed songwriters, John Bettis (Madonna, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston), Phil Barton, Emily Shackelton and Robin Bruce (LeAnne Rimes, Jo Dee Massina)

Nashville writer and producer, Michael Davey, (previously with EMI Publishing and writer of Martina McBride’s hit song ‘Ride’) also writer of Tori’s debut single ‘Crawl’, is close to  completion of the  production of Tori’s debut album.

Winner of Best New Talent Gold Medallion Award, a Toyota Star Maker Top 5 Grand Finalist and TRTT Songwriting Runner Up, Tori has had a great start to 2010.  

2009  also a very exciting year for Tori, being a CMAA College Graduate, a Toyota Star Maker Top 10 Grand Finalist and a finalist in The Australian Independent Country Music Southern Stars ‘Rising Star’ Awards. Tori also released two single’s off her debut EP,  ‘Crawl’,  & ‘You Better Run’,  both charting in the Country Charts Top 30 and receiving great exposure through  radio and CMC.

After winning the Toyota Gympie Muster ‘Maton Talent Search’, Tori headed to Canada to perform as one of the opening acts for KENNY CHESNEY, as well as performing along side Doc Walker, Jo Dee Messina, Johnny Reid, Paul Brant and The Steve Miller Band.   



Continuing on from her Canada Trip, heading to Nashville and Los Angeles to spend time Co-writing with Robin Bruce, TJ Osborne, Larry Clarke, Mike Flanders and esteemed writers Michael Davey, John Bettis and Andrew Dorff.

With the release of her debut EP in March 2009, recorded with renowned musician and producer, Simon Johnson, featuring some of Australia’s leading musicians, Tori’s debut EP has been met with great interest from the country music industry and fans alike.

Tori has traveled extensively throughout Australia, Canada & Nashville in a bid to hone her singing and writing skills and on-stage presentation.

In 2007, Tori was named Champion of the Australian Country Talent Search (ACTS) which had been previously won by Felicity Urquhart and Travis Collins.
In 2008, Tori was delighted when she was named CCMA Junior Champion for Best Young Talent, awarded The Queensland Champion of Champion Song-Writing Award, was a Camerata College Graduate and won the Toyota Maton Talent Search at the Toyota National Country Music Muster near Gympie. As part of her prize, Tori was invited to perform at the Merritt Mountain Country Music Festival.  

Having supported,  THE MCCLYMONTS, JETTY ROAD and AMBER LAWRENCE,  It is Tori’s passion in life to sing and share her music with as many people as possible and one day hopes she will be a highly recognized & acclaimed singer/songwriter both here in Australia and overseas.
