| 2009 has been a sensational year for TORI DARKE with her debut single Crawl reaching #1 on the 98.9fm All Australian Country Music Chart, #11 on The Country Tracks Top 30 chart, and her debut video clip reaching #20 on the CMC Top 30 and her second single YOU BETTER RUN just released and recieving airplay thoughout Australia. This young singer/songwriter continues to make her mark with her latest stage performance in Canada as one of the opening acts for KENNY CHESNEY, as well as performing along side Doc Walker, Jo Dee Messina, Johnny Reid, Paul Brant and The Steve Miller Band. With recent support to THE MCCLYMONTS, JETTY ROAD and AMBER LAWRENCE. A 2009 CMAA College Graduate and 2009 Toyota Star Maker Grand Finalist, Tori’s latest accolade is a finalist berth in the Rising Star Female category at the 2009 Southern Stars – the Australian Independent Country Music Awards. Tori’s debut EP features some of Australia’s leading musicians and was recorded with renowned musician and producer, Simon Johnson. Tori’s debut EP has been met with great interest from the country music industry and fans alike. In preparation for her debut release, Tori was elated to work with fellow songwriters on some of her tracks, including a few of Australia’s finest, Allan Caswell (Karma), Drew McAlister (Not My Time To Fly) and Roger Corbett (You Better Run). In the years leading up to her debut release, Tori traveled extensively throughout Australia to perform at talent quests in a bid to hone her singing skills and on-stage presentation. It appears to have paid off. In 2007, Tori was named Champion of the Australian Country Talent Search (ACTS) which had been previously won by Felicity Urquhart and Travis Collins. |

In 2008, Tori was delighted when she was named CCMA Junior Champion for Best Young Talent, awarded The Queensland Champion of Champion Song-Writing Award, was a Camerata College Graduate and won the Toyota Maton Talent Search at the Toyota National Country Music Muster near Gympie. As part of her prize, Tori was invited to perform at the Merritt Mountain Country Music Festival in Canada where she performed recently. Continuing on from her Canadian Tour, Tori then headed to Nashville and Los Angeles to spend time song-writing with esteemed writers such as, John Bettis, Robin Bruce and had the priviledge to write with Michael Davey and Andrew Dorff who wrote Tori’s first single Crawl, and also wrote the Martina McBride hit Ride. It is Tori’s passion in life to sing and share her music with as many people as possible and one day hopes she will be a highly recognised & acclaimed singer/songwriter both here in Australia and overseas.
