Tori Darke
Biography

Tori believes she was born to perform and in one way or another has been presenting herself for peoples enjoyment since the age of 10.
For the last 8 years Tori has made singing her number one priority and her ambition and determination saw her make her first memorable performance at the Sydney Regional Showcase. Tori achieved1 st Place which meant that she proudly represented NSW in the National Showcase, held in Qld winning 2 nd place cementing her belief that singing was everything she thought it would be.

From the beginning Tori has spent endless hours practicing and committing herself to learn everything she could, so she took to performing in major Eisteddfods throughout Sydney & the South Coast while continuing to enter some of the larger Talent Quests throughout Sydney for experience.

Tori has been “Overall” Junior Contemporary Champion at the largest “Junior” Quest in Sydney, run by Chris Farnham and the icing on the cake at this stage of Tori’s blossoming career was her win at the “Open Age” Division at Wollongong Eisteddfod, receiving the “Overall” Perpetual Trophy at the age of 12.

Confidence has never held Tori back so when asked to sing at private functions she has willingly given her all. Including Special events “Valentine’s Day” Function at “Le Sands” Restaurant- Sans Souci, “The International Neo Surgeons Convention” held at Sydney Convention Centre and the 2004 Australia Day “Citizenship Ceremony” – singing “The National Anthem” where she filled in for KAMAHL- which in itself was an honor and truly very special.

The 2004 Opening Ceremony for the senior “Athens Olympics” Selection Diving Championships and the Opening Ceremony for the juniors - Selection diving saw Tori performing her heart out just as she knew the competitors would be.

Tori also thrilled audiences at the 2005 Charity Functions for “Lifeline”, “Kids Universe”, Sydney Olympic Park and Auburn Council Special Events.

The last three years running have seen Tori take out places at the Chamber of Commerce “Youth Excellent Awards”.

Until September 2005 Tori sang a diverse range of songs everything from Ballads to pop but she discovered a love and passion for Country Music and her future has never looked so bright.

The dedication and belief in herself is mirrored in her performances and she delights in the enjoyment that her family, audiences and teachers derive from listening and watching her perform. Tori went from taking small steps to taking giant leaps entering her first Quest the same month, winning 1 st place and being crowned “Miss Idol” at the Castle Hill Orange Blossom Festival. She was then invited to perform at their Carols in the Park in December. 2006 was a wonderful year for Tori, full of experiences, achievements and challenges. Her first Year performing at Tamworth saw her achieve two 2 nd places and being a Grand Finalist in the “Entertainer of the Year Award. In such a short time, Tori’s stars in country music are shining brightly with no sign of dimming. This is felt by her, and by those who witness and share her very special talent. April 2006 saw her take out overall 2 nd place junior winner in all categories at Illabo Country Music Festival. In June “Overall Junior Winner” at the “ Hunter Valley Country Music Festival” and entry into the Nationals later this year. July was “Hats of To Tamworth” Winter Festival with a 1 st and a 3 rd place, Macarthur Country Music Festival acheiving three 2nd places, Parkes Country Music Festival achieving a 1st and two 2 nd places and her two most recent prestigious wins were 2 nd place in the 2006 “Nationals Showcase” and entry into the finals for “Telstra Road To Tamworth” Tori has teamed up on many occasions with her “duo Partner, Taryn Trautsch entering the Open Events and being Presented as the OVERALL WINNERS of the HUNTER VALLEY COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL 2006 for a truly magnificent rendition of Travellin Soldier”. Tori is also very proud of her achievements in Musicals. Over the past 3 year she has had Soloist Vocal Performances in -The Wiz, Goanna Jack & Bugsy Malone and just recently completed her school musical production “Back to the 80’s.) No challenge is too big for Tori and her proudest moment to date is playing her guitar for her audiences and completing writing her own first song which she has entered in The Parkes Country Festival Songwriters Competition. There’s more to come says Tori with a conviction hard to find in a young teenager of 17.
